CLE Bundle 6 Pack / Required Subjects Specialty Pack

(6 hr needed – 4 hr Ethics, 1 hr Elim. Of Bias, 1 hr Substance Abuse)

Ethics: All You Need to Know
The seventh annual review of major ethics issues by leading ethics attorneys in Los Angeles will feature nine panelists who will review the important decisions and committee opinions reached in 2010, which will include a discussion of the proposed new Rules of Professional Conduct. They will talk about what lawyers can and cannot reveal from confidential attorney-client relationships and when conflicts of interest require leaving a matter. They will also analyze fee and retainer issues, including what to do about fees when the legal relationship ends, motions for withdrawal and returning files, and the ethical and legal implications of twenty-first century technology, including social networking, listservs, email, and metadata.

Bias and Islamophobia in the United States
Please join our distinguished speakers, Mr. Ahilan Arulanantham of the ACLU of Southern California and Ms. Ameena Qazi of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), for an informative and timely talk about bias against Muslims in the United States.

Preventing Substance Abuse - Why are Lawyers so Unhappy
This presentation will focus on substance abuse and mental illness in the legal profession, as well as conditions which may result in an attorney's reduced ability to function psychologically, socially, occupationally or interpersonally. In addition, coping strategies and treatment solutions will also be discussed.

Dr. Alex Yufik is a Board Certified Forensic Psychologist and a licensed attorney. He obtained his law degree from Villanova University School of Law and his doctorate in clinical psychology from George Washington University in D.C. Dr. Yufik is employed by the State Bar of California as a Case Management Supervisor at the Lawyers Assistance Program, where he supervises other clinicians in the program and conducts evaluations of attorneys who require monitored recovery and treatment from substance abuse and/or mental illness.
