How Far Does CEQA Go? Port-Related Impacts Do Not Extend to the Inland Empire

After years of litigation, the legal battle between the city of Riverside and the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach ended this year. Plans to expand cargo terminals in the Los Angeles and Long Beach ports led Riverside officials to sue the ports to obtain further study under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
