Program Information:
What is "IP"? This program will address the fundamentals of intellectual property law. The basics of trademark, patent, and copyright law, along with related causes of action such as the right of publicity, trade secrets, and unfair competition, will be presented during this informative afternoon program.
Who should attend? Attorneys in any area of practice are likely to come across issues related to intellectual property in their careers. Knowledge of the fundamentals allows a practitioner to "spot the issues" and better advise their clients. New attorneys, students, and others interested in this challenging and exciting practice area will also benefit from these succinct lectures from leading practitioners in the field.
Held at LACBA's new state-of-the-art conference center downtown, this program will also provide attendees with the opportunity to talk to the speakers at the cocktail reception immediately following the program. The entire program will be aired live as a web stream for those who would prefer to participate from their office or home.
