Program Information:
A panel of experts will update attorneys, accountants, other professionals and executives interested in current developments affecting the taxation of those in the entertainment industry – both domestically and when working abroad. The program is designed for those who practice in the area and those who would like to learn more about it.
TOPICS:
• An update on Congress’ response to “runaway production”: the domestic production income deduction – section 199 and accelerated depreciation - section 181.
• California’s response to “runaway production” – an update on domestic and international production incentives, including California’s new production incentive.
• Concerns with deferred compensation – section 409A.
• Developments in international tax planning for talent, including the impact of the new “service PE” rules on talent working in Canada under the new Protocol, and updates from New Zealand and Australia.
